Once upon a time

on Public Television…

There was… MoneyHunt

Many years ago, during the dot.com bubble, there was a TV show on PBS where entrepreneurs could pitch their ideas, not unlike today’s Shark Tank. It was the first of its kind in America (having drawn inspiration from Tapie’s Entrepreneurs in France). Two brave souls, Miles Spencer and Cliff Ennico, brought zero TV experience to the cameras… and it wasn’t bad at all.

At the junction of those worlds lies the prospect of good television.

”Money Hunt,” has figured that out. By aiming a camera at people who by their very nature can talk endlessly about their ideas and then pitting them against each other, the producers have created 30 minutes of sometimes corny, yet compelling, television. ~The New York Times
